Where will my portrait session take place?
I offer either in home lifestyle sessions, or outdoor fine art sessions.

What does “lifestyle” photography mean?
Lifestyle photography is a style of portrait/people photography which aims to capture and document real-life events, situations, or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of the everyday. {source}

What does "fine art" photography mean?
Fine art photography is photography created in accordance with the vision of the artist as photographer. Fine art photography stands in contrast to representational photography, such as photojournalism, which provides a documentary visual account of specific subjects and events, literally re-presenting objective reality rather than the subjective intent of the photographer {source}

What is custom photography?
I offer a premium custom service, this means each client will receive my undivided attention, from start to finish without the distractions of a crowded portrait studio, creative limits, or rigid package deals. Also, I pride myself on providing unique quality images which are created with the intent of being printed large and displayed in your home as art - rather than high volume ordinary images burnt to a cd.

What should I wear?
My motto in clothing is this: simple goes a long way! I like to keep the focus on the subject; therefore, simple clothing choices are best for creating timeless portraits. I highly suggest clothing for each family member that has the same tone, not necessarily the same colour. Please be wary of stripes, plaid, words and logos as these things can be a distraction from your beautiful family. Here are some great ideas.

What happens after my session?
I will sort through the images and choose which raw files to process for the final proofing gallery. I carefully develop each image in a digital darkroom, uniquely and one at a time. I will then create the online proofing gallery {this will be available 2-3 weeks after the session} and will be available to view for 7 days. At this point you can choose which images you would like for your final selection.

Can I receive a refund?
In the unlikely event that I am unable to shoot due to an injury, illness, camera failure or other cause beyond my control, every effort will be made to secure a replacement or provide an alternative date for your session. If the situation should occur and a suitable replacement or date is not found, responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the session or event. In the event of inclement weather the session will be rescheduled. No refund will be given under any circumstances if you fail to attend the scheduled session when the booking was made. If for whatever reason you cannot attend the scheduled session 48 hrs notice is required and a credit will be provided to use at a later date.

In the unlikely event that digital files have been lost, stolen, or destroyed for reasons beyond my control, including but not limited to camera, hard drive, or equipment malfunction, liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the session or event. The limit of liability for a partial loss of originals shall be a prorated amount of the exposures lost based on the percentage of total number of originals.  Carly Bee Photography is not liable for the loss of images beyond the lesser of the final delivery of all products included in the package or one year.

Can I make copies of my fine art prints?
No. This is a violation of federal copyright law.
However, I do keep all of the gallery images archived for at least one year, you are free to contact me at any time during this period to order additional prints or digital files.

Please feel free to contact me here with any other questions – any time :)
